In 1911, the Canard Fruit Co. Limited formed with the objective of buying, packing and selling fruit grown by members. Apples were delivered to the company packing house for grading and packing. Other fruit was delivered to the company for sale on commission. All fruit handling expenses were covered by the Company's members. In 1969, all the land and warehouses that were located on land acquired from the Dominion Atlantic Railway at Hillton Station were sold. In May 1970 the Company was dissolved. The minute books and a stock book for the entire period in which the Company was active, 1911-1970 are part of this collection. Many of the minute books and the stock book contain financial information and correspondence.
