Statement on Historical Content in Archives and Special Collections

The Esther Clark Wright Archives and Vaughan Memorial Library's Special Collections contain some content that may be harmful or difficult to view. We collect historical materials from many time periods. As a result, some of the materials presented here include language and images that reflect outdated, biased, and offensive views and opinions. We actively work to flag content that may be potentially harmful. This is an ongoing process.

For reasons of historic authenticity, file titles provided by the author and captions provided by the photographer are transcribed unedited. The spelling of both peoples' and places' names has changed with time, so inaccuracies and inconsistencies in the titles are unavoidable. Where appropriate, an alternative title has been supplied in square brackets.

Archives and Special Collections users who object to materials in the collection may submit a request for reconsideration of the materials using our form.
