The Esther Clark Wright Archives preserves the history of the Annapolis Valley. In collaboration with other local memory institutions, our historical collections keep alive the rich heritage of this region. Here you will find materials of individuals, families, businesses, and organizations located between Digby and Windsor. Although some of our material dates from the late 1700s and early 1800s, most of the records date from the late 1800s into the 21st century.
Our archival materials begin with the New England Planter settlement (post-1759) in the Annapolis Valley region. Materials pertaining to Mi’kmaq heritage, Acadian heritage, New England Planter heritage, and African Nova Scotian heritage are preserved in our Special Collections.
